What is the Sitecore Symposium?
Jorens: “The Sitecore Symposium takes place from 16 till 19 October and is THE Sitecore event you should attend. During this event, new developments around Sitecore will be discussed. Lots of readings and workshops are organized to update the attendees of the latest features and possibilities.”
Why is this event important to TRIMM?
Timo: “We need to know the latest trends and innovations around Sitecore. Version 9, which will be the most recent version of the platform, will be revealed and we expect a lot of it. Besides for me as a Sitecore developer, this Symposium is a great opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences with other Sitecore developers.”
Jorens: “According to Gartner, Sitecore is among the leading Web Content Management systems. To be named a leader by Gartner, it is especially important to have an important vision and live by it. I expect Sitecore to live up to their reputation and that they will show us a lot about the latest developments in our discipline.
Our expectations are that Sitecore will respond to the latest trends with version 9, and that marketeers will be handed even more possibilities to execute their digital marketing strategy. I think of topics such as personalization, dynamic profiles and machine learning. By attending the Sitecore Symposium, we can advise our customers even better about the use of Sitecore.”
What knowledge do you hope to gather?
Timo: “I’m very curious about the new features of Sitecore 9. I expect them to make great strides in marketing automation and predictive marketing. Furthermore, I’d like to see which role artificial intelligence will play in personalization, and how they will make this user friendly.”
Jorens: “I’m very interested in the newest possibilities in cloud hosting of Sitecore and the integration with Azure. Which cloud variants are available and how can we optimize performance? This is well alligned with the TRIMM Performance Cloud.”
Timo: “Thanks to Sitecore xConnect, the platform can be easily integrated with businesses like PIM, DAM and CRM systems. xConnect enables centralization of data from systems like these which makes it easier for companies to be GDPR compliant. This is also something we’re putting a lot of effort in at TRIMM.”
Jorens: “Finally, I’d like to know about the way Sitecore will differentiate itself from other CMS systems in terms of technical possibilities and vision. This enables us to advise customers about a fitting CMS system even better.”
Timo: “And I’m secretly hoping to learn some of the Jedi mind tricks that Luke Skywalker is practicing, because Mark Hamill is one of the keynote speakers!”
