"PIT is onze manier om bij te dragen aan talentontwikkeling in de regio Twente"

Joeri Werken bij TRIMM

"PIT is our way of contributing to talent development in Twente"

Soon PIT, the talent development program of TRIMM, will be 10 years old. On the 25th of November the birthday of PIT will be celebrated with a big reunion to which all "TRIMMers" (TRIMM employees), "PITters" (students and interns working at TRIMM) and former PITters have been invited. In the run-up to the birthday of PIT we spoke with Joeri Constandse, coördinator of PIT.

What is your function?

"At TRIMM I am responsible for the talent program PIT. My work mainly consists of recruitment and selection, coaching of students, giving guest lectures, arranging excursions and keeping in touch with the educational organisations."

What is PIT, actually?

"At TRIMM, talent development is so important that we set up a separate program for it 10 years ago: PIT. PIT includes all students, trainees and graduates who work at TRIMM. PIT is actually our way of contributing to talent development in the region. We believe that providing good preparation for the labor market is not only the responsibility of schools, the business community shares this responsibility."

What do PITters do at TRIMM then?

"As a PITter you work as a full-fledged employee in one of the TRIMM teams. The only thing that's different is that you get personal guidance from a coach and that you get more time to perform the same tasks because you are still learning. You get the room to make mistakes. You work on projects for big customers and you get the space to develop yourself in the areas that have your interest. In order to make your learning process as effective as possible, you will receive intensive guidance, the opportunity to participate in intervision groups or make use of 1 on 1 coaching. If you see an interesting course or seminar and you have a good story, we will pay for it."

Why should you apply for a job at PIT as a student?

"If you want to learn something about the field of internet, there is no better place than TRIMM. We excel in the quality of coaching, the versatility of the work and the good atmosphere. At TRIMM we help students develop themselves into very good professionals. We have the strong conviction that talented and ambitious students have the right to an optimal work and learning place and we provide them with that. And students know how to to find us: every year we receive about 250 applications, of which we can only accept about 20."

How did PIT develop in 10 years?

"PIT has grown and grown up in 10 years. Meanwhile, about 30 students average work for PIT and we have become an established name in the region. In addition, it is nice to see that a lot of the current practice counselors have ever started at TRIMM as a student, including myself."

How will PIT 10 be celebrated?

"It will be a PIT event for PIT. There are inspiring talks given by former PITters, because we are very curious where they ended up and what they are doing now. In addition, we will of course have fun together and a number of PITters will organize a pub quiz. We are going to invite all PITters and former PITters, about 180 people now! It will be a lot of fun, a great time to meet former colleagues again."
