48 hours in Madrid - ICOM World meeting
Two weeks ago, I got the chance to spend time in Madrid for the NextGen Talent Program 2024.
The program was organized by the ICOM Network, which we are part of as TRIMM. But what exactly is ICOM?
ICOM is a global network of independent advertising and marketing agencies that bring people closer to brands through connected thinking. During the talent program, we were tasked with forming our mini-agency with 9 young professionals from all over the world and different agencies. We received a brief from the client, a major listed company, producer, and marketer of renewable energy. We were only given 48 hours to prepare an impactful pitch to blow the client away.
Working together in an international context with a mega-tight deadline, all while we had just met a few hours ago. Luckily, we had guidance from our mentors. Barnaby Wynter, an expert in marketing and brand creation guided us through the process and shared many valuable best practices and learnings during these 2 days. Being an exceptional host at her agency Darwin & Verne, Ivet Honorato Rico was also a fantastic guide during the whole process.
After hours of brainstorming, developing, and preparing, the moment was there...
It was time for the pitch for the client. As if that wasn't nerve-wracking enough, the entire room was filled with leaders of amazing agencies around the globe.
As I write this, I realize that it's impossible to describe the impact this program had on me fully. It contributed significantly to my personal growth. With a boost of new energy and inspiration, I am excited to apply this knowledge and experience in my work at TRIMM.
Emma Keenan, ICOM Network & TRIMM, gracias!
For this amazing challenge. This was an experience I will not soon forget.
And of course a special thanks to the team: Eleanor, Ernesta, Elisabeth, Fabian, Joena, Mike, Sina, and Tomás.
You will forever feel like a team and my colleagues. This is definitely not the end, but the beginning of something new…!
